Dr. Kristen Lum ND, LAc, MSOM
Naturopathic Doctor
Licensed Acupuncturist
After receiving her BA from CU Boulder, Dr. Lum attended Fort Lewis College for two years to complete her science requirements for medical school. In 2002, she earned her Doctorate degree in Naturopathic Medicine (ND) from the National College of Natural Medicine (NCNM) in Portland, Oregon. She continued her graduate education and completed her Masters degree in the Science Oriental Medicine (MSOM) from NCNM in June 2006. She is currently a licensed acupuncturist in Durango, Colorado, and is a Diplomat in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Dr. Lum is also nationally certified in Acupuncture by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). As a physician, she integrates Western, Chinese and Naturopathic Medicine in order to offer her patients exceptional comprehensive care.
Dr. Lum is the former clinic manager of The Hai Shan Center in Corbett, Oregon, working for Dr. Heiner Fruehauf, PhD, LAc. Dr. Fruehauf was the founder and Dean of the Classical Chinese Medicine program at NCNM. Fluent in both German and Chinese, he studied Chinese medicine and Qigong at Chengdu University of TCM in China. Other experience includes serving as medical assistant at a clinic called Rising Health in Vancouver, Washington for Dr. Daniel Newman MD, ND, LAc. Dr. Newman has over 25 years experience as a medical doctor, trained in Internal Medicine and Pain Medicine.
After 9 years in Portland, the call of Rocky Mountain sunshine and alpine living finally won her back. Dr. Lum grew up in Durango. She says, "I have family here. I have community here. In Durango I can do all the things I love to do outdoors: mountain bike, hike, backpack, camp and snowboard. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else." Her other interests include yoga, reading, and cooking healthy, organic meals.

Lynn Philippon, NCMT, RMT
After receiving her Bachelor�s Degree from Northern Arizona University, Lynn�s developing interest in healthcare and wellness led her to Tucson, AZ where she attended the Desert Institute of the Healing Arts. Lynn received her Certificate of Completion in Therapeutic Massage in 1998.
Lynn�s career has allowed her the opportunity to work in therapeutic massage clinics, physical therapy practices and multi-faceted sports facilities. Currently, her practice focuses on integrative treatments of deep tissue, trigger point therapy, myofascial release and neuromuscular therapy.
Lynn continues to further her knowledge, experience and expertise in bodywork by participating in continued education courses. Among those completed are: Advanced Myofascial Trainings, Neuromuscular Therapy for the cervical and abdominal region, headaches and TMJ, Passive Stretching and Massage Cupping.
Lynn is presently board certified by the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork, a member of the American Massage Therapy Association, and is a Registered Massage Therapist with the State of Colorado.
When not at work, Lynn enjoys mountain biking, hiking, rafting, gardening and mostly spending time with her husband and two sons.

Katie Marechal, LMT, NCMT, LLCC
Katie�s passion for massage and bodywork began 14 years ago while teaching in a rural town in Thailand where she experienced the healing power of touch. Upon returning back to the US she received extensive massage training and education at the Career Network Institute in Orange, CA. Katie became a nationally certified massage therapist in 2003 and also holds her massage therapy license. In 2006, after 3 years of intensive training and 140 hours of classroom time, Katie received her certification in Manual Lymphatic Drainage and Complex Decongestive Physiotherapy(LLCC) through The Upledger Institute, Inc. with Bruno Chikly M.D., D.O. She has also furthered her massage studies with courses in Myofascial Release, Reiki, Trigger Point and Neuromuscular Therapy. Katie also holds a degree in Journalism from the University of Colorado in Boulder.
Katie spent 6 years working in Huntington Beach, CA with a well-known Physician of Osteopathy and Sports Medicine before moving to Durango in 2006. She has advanced knowledge in anatomy, physiology and pathology. Katie is an orthopedic and lymphedema specialist. Her practice focuses on injury recovery and prevention, neuromuscular therapy, chronic pain/overuse syndromes and myofascial techniques. She also has over 5 years experience massaging and working with cancer patients. She is committed to providing the highest standard of therapeutic massage, continuing education, and client care in a professional and nurturing environment.
While not soothing sore muscles, reducing swelling and treating tension and pain, Katie enjoys hiking, yoga, skiing, reading, meditating and creative writing. Cooking and laughing a lot are also at the top of her list.
